Kenwood Vineyards creates its award-winning Sonoma County Merlot from vineyards located in the Sonoma, Dry Creek and Alexander Valleys. Sonoma Valley fruit provides good color and excellent texture. The blend is balanced with grapes from the warmer Dry Creek and Alexander Valley regions that provide more fruit-forward character. The resulting wine is ripe, supple and well-proportioned. This classic, well-balanced Merlot combines elegant structure with loads of fruit. Complex aromas of tea leaf, baking spices, and French oak. On the palate, rich layers of red and black fruits and a suggestion of mint accompany firm tannins and refreshing acidity.
