The 2014 growing season began early with a warm and dry spring. We were fortunate to have a moderately mild summer with foggy mornings, which delayed ripening. Harvest was fast and the quality of the fruit is good with higher than average sugars and acids.

This vintage from Hallberg is very much in line with the past years. The signature floral character of the vineyard shows prominently. It is medium bodied with more acidity than tannins, reminiscent of the 2012 vintage but lighter on its feet with fresh blueberry and cranberry complimented by pepper and, warm spices. The wine is bright and charming marrying Russian River Valley fruit with the elegance of the old world.
