Crafted from organically grown rye at their own estate and then matured in three different barrels i.e. first in traditional oak casks, then in charred American white oak barrels and finally finished in premium Port casks, Hillrock Estate Distillery "Port Cask Finished" Double Cask Rye Whiskey displays a bold nose with complex aromas of maple syrup, roasted nuts, raisins, allspice and clove. Full-bodied and rich on the palate, sweet, warming notes of caramel and ginger are followed by rye bread, raw cacao, strawberries and dried fruit which blend seamlessly into demerara and cacao on the long, warm finish.
